Beach Vacation – Where To Find The Ultimate Waves.

The sport of surfing today is more than a worldwide pastime; it has become a discipline and a lifestyle for thousands with international competitions and the crowning of champions. From the shores of California to the coast of Australia, the north shore of Hawaii to the cape of Africa, surfers search for the biggest, longest, steepest and most perfect in a continual to search for the ultimate wave.

Winter storms across the northern Pacific serve up some of the largest most infamous waves on the planet on Oahu’s north shore. The wind driven surf can reach 25 feet plus and sometimes they crank up to over 50 feet in Waimea Bay.Want more? Click here/tag

The Cortes Banks is 100 miles west of San Diego and storms in the Gulf of Alaska can create waves that big wave surfers dream about. In 2001, Mike Parsons was towed into a monster that was estimated to be nearly 70 feet.

Miguel del Toro was virtually an unknown big wave surfer until he caught a 100 footer off the shores of Patagonia. The footage of his ride is scary, the ride insane and has to be what nightmares are made of and is undoubtedly, the ultimate wave.
